We are excited to share some quick tips for your Facebook page today to help with your Social Media Marketing.
But first here's something to to make you laugh - we still love it months after it's release.
This is a viral video, over 24 million views and in YouTube marketing that's important, though we're not covering YouTube today, we will come back to YouTube marketing in the near future in another upcoming blog post. Today is about how to improve your Facebook page and Facebook marketing.
Facebook now has over 1.7 BILLION (yes billion) daily users. And here's some tips on how to get their attention:
1. Get used to using videos
Videos now rank higher in Facebook and they will be driven to the top of your home page feed. Using video for your business will help organic promotion. Facebook is becoming YouTube's largest contender for video uploads, so now is the time to get involved as it only accounts for around 0.9% of all posts on Facebook but is growing fast.
2. Save your custom audiences
When you promote your ads and create your ideal audience for targeting make sure you save them and name them appropriately. This will help you when coming back and re targeting your audience when scaling your ads and growing your customer base. Once you have created your ideal audience then you can save it for...
3. Try re targeting
If you have a business and a website, (if not let us know, we would love to help) re targeting is a huge source of additional customers. All you need is to install your Facebook pixel on your website and the visitors will come.
4. Add THE RIGHT call to action button to your page
This is an easy one as you need to go to your button at the top right side of your page (below your cover photo) and select which action you want your customers to carry out, call, message, email? Make sure you add one that is relevant to your business.
5. Be responsive to your messages
Facebook are now believed to have included responsiveness calculations within their algorithm so answering your messages instantly helps your page ranking. You also get your green instant reply badge on your page, which is good for your reputation, as fans can see how quickly you respond to them.
6. Add captioning to your videos
If you upload a video to Facebook it is better to include captioning, Facebook have the ability to add this when you upload your videos but it's better if you can do this yourself (properly) before uploading, as nearly 90% of videos watched on Facebook are watched without sound so it will perform better if you are able to watch it silently.
7. Share your mailing list with your Facebook page
If you have a mailing list then those emails are a valuable source of potential income. What you need to do is upload your email list to your Facebook account / page, in your settings.
This allows you to re target them on Facebook as an ad can go to every account associated with each email on your list allowing you to engage with them on social media connecting with them on another platform, as someone who has shown previous interest in you it will be easier for you to build your relationship and trust with them.
8. Embed your Facebook content elsewhere
It is easy to share your Facebook blog posts else where, like on your website (just click the top right button on your Facebook post). This allows you to cross post across platforms very easily, saving you time and allowing you to engage your different audiences and users.
9. Go live!
Live videos are going to be huge this year and the earlier you get involved the better. Live video is growing rapidly on social media with Snap Chat, Facebook Live, Instagram and now Twitter (with their acquisition of periscope) all having live capabilities.
Don't be afraid of live video although it is worth practicing with staged videos first to make sure you are comfortable with a camera being put in front of your face.
The main reason to go live is because of the boost you get from it. Facebook will increase the videos reach into more people's feed. Some tips for shooting live video are;
- Show the product or service, place that is your business
- Act natural
- Speak clearly
- Relax, just think you're talking to your friends through Facebook, tell them what you want to tell them
- Ensure the videos content has value to your target audience
- Make the video longer then 2 minutes but no longer than 10 minutes, enough time for content
- Keep the camera (maybe even yourself) moving
- Reply to the comments, questions as they come through from people - keep people happy and engaged
10. Enjoy yourself
Most of all have fun and enjoy yourself. Social media is just that - social, so just think about how you can enjoy it yourself, chatting with customers and friends alike. Social media was made to allow people to connect with one another, so be personal, open up to your viewers and talk about yourself, not a faceless company.
So get out there and enjoy yourself while putting these tips into practice. Please contact us if you need any assistance with this as this we are happy to help.
